Rakesh Sharma was the first Indian citizen to step into Space. He was a pilot in Indian Air Force(IAF) and flew aboard the Soviet spacecraft Soyuz T-11 as part of an intercosmic flight program between the Soviet Union and India in 1984. He was also trying different experiments on the 8th day of Space. Also, he responded to the question of the Indian Prime minister that " How does India Look from Space" the answer is "Saare Jahan Se Accha" (better than the whole world).
